TAKING THE BATON: THE LEGACY CONTINUES

Today we’re going to take a stroll through our house, recalling a touching encounter that took place exactly one year ago.

Today we’re going to take a stroll through our house, recalling a touching encounter that took place exactly one year ago.

Upon beginning again, we needed to draw inspiration from the words of the council of wisemen. And so it was: on 28 April 2014 we met up at the Motorcycle Museum with the members of Bultaco’s founding team: Alberto Nomen, Ricardo Quintanilla, José Sol and Joan Chalamanch.

The reunion of Bultaco’s founders evoked what was a magnificent adventure; from that dream realized in 1958, to its public resurgence on that night thanks to a new team that sustains the essence of the Bultaco brand. A story that was built on values, people, innovative solutions and dreams that came true. It was an encounter that infused us with the same contagious sensation that all the greats have felt: passion, the competitive spirit, and lots of effort and excitement to recover the position that the thumbs-up brand once enjoyed.

The event was captured in a video that will be stored in Bultaco’s archives, as the two generations, united, reenacted the 17 May 1958 photo, taken the day the brand was rolled out, with all its members giving the thumbs-up sign.

Some legendary Bultaco racers also recorded videos to transmit their support for the new stage that is now underway: Salvador Cañellas, the first Spaniard to win a GP, who rode a Bultaco TSS 125; and Sito Pon, two-time 250 cc world champion and winner of the Bultaco Streaker Cup, wished in this way to acknowledge Bultaco’s legacy.

One year later, we keep on improving… and dreaming.

And we keep on striving to restore Bultaco to the position that it once held in the motorcycle racing world, faithful to the old values, but sensitive to 21st-century advances.

Dream again!
